If it's whales, seals, dolphins, sea birds, deer and fabulous ocean views that you are looking for, you found it! Casa Gran Vista was built in 1925 and was one of the first two residences built on the iconic Ocean View Boulevard in Pacific Grove, California.
Wildlife flourishes in this region from whales, dolphins, many species of birds, to local families of deer and of course, the perfect resting, feeding and birthing bay and beach for Harbor Seals which are visible from the property - just out the front window or from the courtyard! The bay is located directly across the street and this section of bay is a protected sanctuary for harbor seals to give birth. The pups are born between February and April and weigh about 20 to 24 pounds at birth - so much fun to watch them right from the property.
Staying true to the property's Spanish revival architecture, the bottom floor was transformed into a two bedroom, two bathroom vacation rental complete with Saltillo and Talavera tile flooring as well as hardwood floors and comfortable exterior courtyard seating. The front doors open onto an expansive north-facing patio where you can unwind around a built-in gas fire pit, sip a glass of local wine, and enjoy a stunning view of the entire Monterey Bay. Across the street you can leisurely walk along the recreation trail a short 5 minutes to the world renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row where you will find both fine and casual dining, shopping, and entertainment. It's a short stroll to Lover's Point and centrally located just a few minutes drive to all the attractions the Monterey Peninsula has to offer including Carmel-by-the-Sea, Pebble Beach and Big Sur.
