5 miles from the Autoroute de Soleil,exit 26. The villa is in the heart of Provence with wonderful views of the
Luberon from the rear bedroom. The cities of Avignon, Aix-en-Provence
and Marseilles are all within 40 mins drive, whilst the beautiful
villages of the Luberon, Lourmarin, Ansouis, Bonnieux, Lacoste,
Menerbes & Gordes made famous by Peter Mayle in 'A Year in Provence'
are all within 10-20 miles. Beautiful villages, wonderful scenery,
provencale markets, vineyards & restaurants abound! 10 mins from
the 'Auto-route de la Soleil', Cannes, Nice, Monte-Carlo & St Tropez
are all within 2-3 hour drives. Over a dozen excellent golf courses
are within one hours drive. The villa can be reached in 9-10 hrs
drive from Calais whilst the Saturday Eurostar direct to Avignon in
the summer is under 6 hrs. It is served by airports in Marseille
(40mins), Nimes (60mins) & Nice (2hrs).
Beautiful walks & cycle rides exist both on the domaine and also
nearby. The top of the Luberon and the GR97 footpath that crests it,
with it's outstanding views and the Gorge du Regalon, wonderful walk,
are only some 6 miles away. Silvacane Abbey (Cistercian) is one of
the 'three sisters' of provence and is 5 miles. Provencale markets
occur every day of the week in the local villages. Leisurely daytrips
can be made to the Gorge du Verdon (Europe's Grand Canyon), the roman
ruins in Arles, Nimes, Orange & the Pont du Gard as well as the
vineyards of Chateauneuf du Pape & Gigondas (30 mins by motorway). Ski slopes 1 1/2 hrs by autoroute.
