Two centuries-old farm buildings set on an organic sheep farm at the head of a forested Dordogne valley, complete with private golf course and swimming pool.
La Chaise consists of a pair of stone farm buildings, a couple of centuries old, set on an organic sheep farm in a ten acre (24 hectare) clearing in the woods at the head of a secluded valley.
The Farmhouse has four bedrooms to sleep up to seven guests, and the Shepherd's Cottage has two bedrooms to accommodate four guests, two adults and two children.
Both houses have the region's traditional red clay roof tiles and are floored with terracotta tiles downstairs and chestnut boards upstairs.
Each house has its own garden, terrace, and separate access to the swimming pool which is also in its own, child-proof, fenced garden.
Guests can enjoy a 5 x 10 metre outdoor pool and a private eight hole golf course on the property. The golf course is 2200 yards, par 30. The owners can supply a set of children's clubs and a few adult clubs.
The Farmhouse is a gently modernised, traditional home. On the ground floor is a dining room and kitchen. An oak dining table with benches to seat eight is set opposite the original farmhouse-style fireplace, and the kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, two fridges and a small freezer, and all the necessary utensils.
In the living room, two sofas and two armchairs face a Norwegian wood stove for the cooler months. Double doors lead to the covered terrace facing the fields where guests can dine outside and enjoy a barbecue. A door connects to the downstairs shower and laundry room which also has a toilet.
Upstairs are the four bedrooms and the bathroom. The main double bedroom overlooks the fields and woods, and has its own washbasin and a built-in antique wardrobe. The larger of the two twin bedrooms also has a basin and built-in wardrobe, and features antique beds.
The third bedroom is a smaller room also with twin beds, from which a classic "bull's eye" oval window looks onto the woods. The fourth bedroom has a children's bed which can be changed for a standard single bed. A bright window overlooks the duck pond and a skylight lets in the moonlight.
The bathroom on this floor has a full size bath with shower, and a basin and toilet.
