Villa in Seillans near Fayence, Var, Provence, France - Charming, having been owned by a Parisian artist and florist, it benefits from a tropical garden
This delightful villa with stucco walls and pantile roof is situated on a hillside just a few minutes walk from the medieval village of Seillans, rated one of the most beautiful villages in France (only 2 such villages in the Var).
The house is south facing with views across miles of pine forest towards the coast and is not overlooked by any other property. It is in a quiet area on a small road with easy access to the village but no noise from the center of the village.
The house has around 350 square meters of living space. Arranged as a main house and almost adjoining annexe, it has two double bedrooms and a bathroom and shower room in each building. Two bedrooms have king beds, one double and one twin beds. The living room has a mezzanine that gives a feeling of space, light and lightness.
The kitchen and 3 of the bathrooms have all been updated in the last 12 years and the house has a new gas boiler installed in 2013 for reliable water heating. A new electric pool heater was installed in 2015 and various exterior improvements including a large covered area outside the open plan living area. The outdoor dining terraces are flanked by lush tropical plants including yucca trees, oleanders, fine mulberry, fig trees, pomegranate trees, olive trees, various palms and cacti overlooking an azure heated swimming pool. The pool is heated to 29 degrees, which is very pleasant! The pool is only available between Easter and the end of October, unless special arrangements have been made with the owner.
We have air conditioning in the main house (both bedrooms plus the living room). The annexe has solid stone walls and is therefore cool without requiring air conditioning.
The villa is close to Frejus (which offers paragliding and crewed yacht hire as well as pleasant marina cocktail bars) and Cannes on the Cote D'Azur, Lac St Cassien (paddle boat hire), a variety of golf courses and the breathtaking Verdon Gorge (zip line and white water rafting as well as one of the most beautiful gorges in Europe).
On arrival you will receive a welcome pack with a bottle of local rose wine, a bottle of water, cheese, olives and a baguette. If you bring small children, you will be provided with drinks and chips.
Some basic household items are also provided, including bin liners and dishwasher tablets.
